House Training A Dog

When bringing the new member into the family, there are important things to teach your new dog. The secret to being successful at training your dog is being consistent with your training. If you stop training the dog before it is obedient, good luck getting the dog to comply down the road.

Some new dog owners think that their dog's poor behavior like jumping up one people, chewing things around the house, and barking will go away after time or is a phase. This is a big mistake thinking they will simply grow out of it. Avoiding correction of a habit like this in your dog will make them think it is alright for them to act that way and they will continue doing so.

It is very important that you train your puppy right from the beginning, slacking on your training will only bite you in the butt in the long run. An obedient dog is one to be proud of, take pride in your training. The initial training period with your dog is also a time for bonding. Spending time training your dog should be followed by play time. Playing with your dog after training makes them excited to be good during your training time, they will know that after they can play.

Regular dog walks are very important; your dog needs to stay active. Taking the puppy to the park or a walk around the block a few times a day is good for your dog's health and yours. Think of your puppy like your exercise buddy, taking them out for walks are fun for the both of you. Going on regular walks will keep your puppy going outside rather than in the house, and make potty training much easier.

As a new dog owner, you may not have the knowledge to completely train your dog and be wondering what direction to take it in. There happens to be a lot of great training guides available online, and in book stores. One that I would highly recommend is one that I in fact refer to now and then. If there is anything you want or need to know about training your puppy, this book has it all. This happens to be my favorite training book.

The book not only covers all the basics of house training a dog, it also covers the more advanced training and so much more. Even as someone that has been around dogs their entire life I learned new things it this book. It is a must read for anyone looking to get the most out of their dog. Be sure to check it out!
